Autologic - Professional diagnostics and more!
The Autologic tool is a fully-featured diagnostic, module programming and configuration solution, the unit I have covers all LandRover models and is not limited to one model or specific vehicle, it’s possible to add other marques to it’s capability and it’s also capable of remapping using the Autologic / Turbochip performance tunes. The unit uses a touch screen interface, which can be easily operated even with gloves on!
As can be seen, the full range of LandRover products is available
Selecting the Discovery3 / LR3 option brings up the following screen
All the above options give quick access to key systems and configuration
The above screen allows various vehicle parameters to be safely edited, written to the CCF stored in both the CJB and IPK, if there is a compare fail, the option to select one or the other as default is available

It’s also possible to read the vehicles current configuration data from the IPK and CJB

Selecting the ‘drive’ button brings up the selection screen below

Selecting engine gives all three engine options

Below is the TDV6 options screen

Below is the dynamic data sub-menu page

All the buttons provide access to real-time data, the cylinder balancing offset values page is particularly useful in diagnosing injector problems way before they get serious enough to flag as a DTC

Both the engine cooling fan and the EGR valves can be forced on or off / open or closed for diagnostic checks

Other useful functions are shown below

The ‘activate security’ is used to code a new ECM to the vehicle, the ‘lift pump reset’ is used to clear the fuel pump lockout if there is a problem with blocked filter, leaking fuel line excessive air in the LP fuel system etc.

As you’d expect, all the TCM dynamic data is available, along with the ability to clear the transmission adaptation

The same goes for the transfer box…

And active rear differential
The full range of chassis systems can be accessed
Including the service functions for correct maintenance of the EPB (including the new ‘unjam’ procedures used in IDS systems)

Obviously the full dynamic data is available to correctly diagnose EPB problems

It’s also very easy to calibrate the ride height, restore calibration or enter geometry setting mode
Calibration of the steering angle sensor is also possible – correct calibration is vital to ensure correct operation of DSC, EBD, ABS, RCM to name just a few systems that need reliable data from this module

The ABS system is similarly well catered for in access to dynamic data, component activations and DTC interrogation

Even peripheral systems are comprehensively covered

One of the highlights of the Autologic tool is the ability to programme key electronic modules with the latest software – safely and without danger of corrupted modules becoming expensive paperweights

Of course, all modules can be interrogated for DTC’s (fault codes)
As you’d expect, full descriptive text for each DTC is provided
Along with detailed information for each DTC
As can be seen, it’s possible to work out when the DTC was logged and its status. The screen capture facility is useful for storing information about the vehicle, for example ‘before and after’ values for injector changes etc.
If you’ve got this far, you’re probably thinking ‘great, but I’m never going to be able to justify the cost of one’, well, the reason I’ve posted this is to show the capabilities of the Autologic tool as it stands right now, in the hands of an independent specialist (and even some LandRover dealers have the same equipment!) it provides a reliable, safe and fast diagnostic and configuration tool with the added enhanced capability to update core vehicle modules to the latest software version. Worldwide there are thousands of competent independent specialists equipped with this tool, who can provide a cost-effective solution to maintaining and repairing your LandRovers. Just think how much diagnostic time £600 - £700 will get you at typical independent specialist rates.
Oh, did I mention I use the Autologic tool?

A diagnostic check and clear starts at £50, obviously detailed investigation of any particular errors is on a case-by-case basis although most DTC's are historic and can be safely cleared. The check includes a drive - cycle and re-read to ensure no DTC's have been logged again.

or unless they've been somewhere sandy.....
the values are blank because I was running the Autologic in 'demo' mode so I could get clearer photo's - the last four have reflections because there were taken inside a vehicle
