Aux Jack Interference/Buzzing via GVIF

Hi all,

Does anyone have a part number for this unit? I can't find one anywhere Confused

I've got interference when my aux cable is plugged in. If I wiggle it around in the port a bit, the interference changes, and sometimes goes away but when it does I have reduced audio quality (crackly sound and loses crispness).

It's always been a bit dodgy, but has gotten worse today after reinstating my GVIF unit (don't know if extra wiring in the car means more interference?!). My first idea is to replace this part as there seems to be some kind of dodgy connection...

Thanks,
Chris

Have you tried a different aux cable?

Do you have a USB adapter in the socket next to it?

I do in the front actually, but just pulled that out too and the problem persisted.. I've taken some videos of it, I'll try and upload them.

Thanks

So... I've replaced the aux port this morning but unfortunately it hasn't made any difference to the interference/buzzing.

However... I've had a play with the GVIF unit and realised that when I unplug the input cables to the GVIF, the buzzing stops. Please see videos below...

Aux selected on radio, but buzzing only starts when I plug in the aux cable:

But when I remove the GVIF input cables, the buzzing stops (need the volume up!!)...

I'm faaar from being an electrics expert ( Embarassed ) so any ideas where to start? I'm keen to keep the GVIF as it gives me reversing camera.

Thanks,
Chris

Had a play for a while yesterday and (unsurprisingly) can't work out what's wrong. Anyone got any thoughts? Confused

Thanks guys.

Trying to understand the instructions as I didn't actually install it myself. Is it possible to just remove the audio part of the connection as I'm only using it for the camera now? Confused

In that case you just need to disable the AV inputs with the dip switches, take a photo/note of them before you start as they can be a pain if you get it wrong. Thumbs Up
