Aux. Rear Jack

One of the kids snapped my ipod lead off in the aux. jack. Evil or Very Mad The only bit in there is the very tip of the jack plug.

Does anyone know how I can get it out.

Thanks

Not sure how to get the tip out but those 3.5mm sockets are dead cheap at Maplins, should be a relatively easy replacement.

Might be worth getting a small drill say 1.5 or 2mm and turning the drill into whatever is left behind to try and get a grip on it and then pull ... hopefully you will have enough of a grip on it to get it out.

(Might seem obvious but don't use a battery drill . Big Cry .. just turn the drill by hand).

Not sure the drill will do much unless it's magnetised?

Shoudl eb easy enough as CFB says to get a replacement. Have a look in Wiggs Gallery on how to take the surround off so you can get to it.
You need to get an Ipod integration kit, that way you can keep it out of the way of the kids!!! Smile

no need for the drill to be magnetised ... just make enough of a hole so that with a bit of side pressure out she pops ... Bob's your uncle , Fannies your aunt Razz ! Bit like using a corkscrew if that makes it any clearer !

On some occasions such as these, I have been known to use a wooden cocktail stick and some superglue.

I break the tip off the stick (don't cut it as that leaves it straight; you want it rough to hold some glue), and then use the smallest amount of glue possible. The sides of the stick must remain dry, and there should be only enough glue for you to say it looks damp; you don't want any left inside if it doesn't work. I put a drop on a piece of card then use that to transfer the glue to the stick.

Next, using both hands to steady yourself, guide the stick down the centre of the hole and wait till it touches down. press hard for 10 secods then slowly withdraw (Ooooh errr).

Good luck Smile
