I know loads of threads on tyres but getting confused and have the slowest link on the planet today so searching this site is a nite mare.
Was looking to replace tyres with General AT2's but from various sources found there appears to be something like a 8,000 tyre backlog and it would be easier to pick up rocking horse droppings.
I am not desperate but need to chenge rubber in the next couple of weeks.
A local guy to me is offering me Avon Rangers V Pattern for the mix of driving SWMBO does.
I am on 18's
With a discount my daughters company offer with this guy they look about £125 a corner all fitted.
I am guessing from prices I have seen this is a pretty good price.
Just not seen any write-ups on these Avon's when looking previously
Dont want to be sold a pup.
Mark D4 HSE - Aintree Green
D4 Orkney my13 - gone
Stornaway D4. Gone, Didn't like it at all

Maybe therein lies the answer ? 21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

Yup, the whole tyre business is confusing! Just came up my hill - 3/4 mile to the main road from our house)over the fresh snow, drifted to 2 feet or so, Found a Terrano from SW Water on the top of the hill with Avon Rangers on, which had come in from the main road over deepish virgin snow - so those tyres ain't THAT bad! I had come up a 1 in 4 hill from my house, Disco faultless on Goodyear Wranglers, which BTW, I had never rated very highly as all terrain tyres on my previous Nissan Pathfinder - changed to Toyo Open Country A/Ts. So who knows? I shall go for General Grabber AT2s next time, but only because I do a fair bit of muddy track work towing,

i had a full set of avon rangers fitted on my d2 6 months before i bought my d3 last october for £350 all in so its not a bad price youve been quoted and they are'nt a bad tyre, theres a deep tread on them although wet muddy fields was as far as i went with regards to off roading but never had any issues with them
