Now Then...
I'm Ent's mate he spoke about in the earlier post. This juddering has been explained perfectly as the brakes being jabbed on and off. My car has done just over 9k and this has happened 4 times now. It has done it both with the cruise control on and off and it always starts when decreasing speed to about 70 - 80mph.
LR said that it sounds like the DPF re generating itself, which I feel is a little strange as 90% of my mileage is on the motorway.
This has no bearing on the problem I know but it has always done it on the M6 southbound, heading to Lancashire, perhaps it's trying to tell me something. (no offence Lancastrians, I am one).
On Thursday last week in Bolton the red warning light came on saying "restrictred performance", I was just about to get on the M61 but it wouldn't go above 35mph, so I pulled over and phoned LR. The employee who obviously has worked for Dell or PC World told me to "switch it off and switch it back on again", I did and it cleared itself.
I haven't had time to look into this further but I'm hoping to get it into the dealers some time next week.
Cheers.
Spibes.

How fast is it though, We have one exactly the same at work and its like a scalded cat !
We have a D4 that i drive a lot but on the odd occasion i drive the RRS i always find it quick on the uptake ?
Whats your thoughts, and how do you find it for space i think they are quite a lot smaller.Only dead fish go with the Flow !

That is half the problem, it disappears once switched off. I did find mine was still doing it slightly on the way to the dealer yesterday.
Mine started after the battery was changed (may or may not be relevant) and we found the positive lead loose, but that was tiightened after the second occurence. A couple of possibles suggested have been an earthing problem, EGR? or turbo actuator stiff?
I will keep you updated, if you could do the same if you find anything, although it is hardly likely to be difinitive untill 2 or 3 weeks after doing anything. Joined the BMWX5 45e group

I think it feels smaller because of the sloping tailgate and the height of the centre console, and the roofline stays the same right through, it feels relatively unspacious.
It does feel quick and very stiff, there is no body roll even in normal drive mode, let alone Dynamic! Its ride can be quite harsh though, this one is on 20" wheels I think. The seats are superb (are D4 HSE ones the same?), the radar controlled cruise control is quite novel, and at least the poor RRS driver doesn't have to strain themselves opening and closing the tailgate manually!
Would I buy one, (even if I had the £68K starting price) I don't think so, maybe an upgraded D4 or a FFRR, but as a curtesy car, fantastic.Joined the BMWX5 45e group

I plan to do some comparisons whilst I have this, so far it doesn't seem so bad, especially for the first mile in the morning.
That first mile on a cold morning the revs on my D4 seem to hang up for some time and when it does change gear it only seems to come down a hundred revs or so (nowhere near as much as once warmed up). The RRS does not do this at all, one definate difference. It also seems to be better on MPG (or the lieometer is even worse), be interesting to see the difference.
I'll let you know anything I find.Joined the BMWX5 45e group

First update, had a call this afternoon, so far the brake pedal switch and a height sensor have been found to be faulty, they are keeping over the weekend to run more tests Monday and Tuesday, so guess I'll have to slum it for a few more days
Unfortunately of course, no matter what they do or find, it will be impossible to say if it is definitely fixed for at least a few weeks after getting it back, but here's hoping.Joined the BMWX5 45e group

D4 returned today, nothing really conclusive, brake light switch that wouldn't adjust properly but that was about it. Unfortunately it didn't play up for them so no way of telling if that was the problem or not until it doesn't reoccur within the next few months.Joined the BMWX5 45e group

Next time the fault is present, phone LRA or take it back to the dealer without switching it off. That way the fault is still present, and aomeone high up in the dealership (service manager or DP) so they can experience the fault, and even plug it in to see of something is reading out...My D3 Build Thread

Mikey, do you mean leave the engine running?
Funny the comments about the RRS. Found the seats to be very comfy and the anti-roll system is outstanding (but pricy when it goes wrong) but the rest of the ride and handling I found to be awful.Land Rover - Turning Drivers into Mechanics Since 1948
