Back in the Fold
Hello everyone.
I'm back in the fold having been away for a number of years with a RR 3.6 TDV8, which was a great car. However, I wanted to get back into the Disco fold and have bought myself a 2005 SE TDV6 with 138000 miles.
It's a good car. So far in order to get things running correctly I've undertaken or will undertake the following:
1. Unseize The Turbo Actuator.
2. Replace the two front struts.
3. Replace the two front tyres.
---
Now, I also have to examine the gearbox troubles (I think). Please see the attached video in which I'm attempting to reverse up a 1.2FT high concrete base. In the video I place the car in reverse and put my foot to the floor. I note the Traction Control doesn't cut in nor, does it rev high. Is this normal?
Once I select low range it gets up no problem. Any input would be greatly appreciated.
I'm thinking of putting in one of the spare Dr Tranny's I have from my previous disco days.
Anyways here's the video and a quick pictures of the Discovery.

Would think a foot high obstacle in an automatic box in high box is much to much to expect it to tackle, of course I may be wrong,Discovery 3 HSE 07

So I've spent another few hours working on the Discovery.
First off, I think I was wrong about the gearbox because having driven it more I believe it is actually working fine. I'm going to still put in some Dr Tranny into it prior to having the majority of the oils changed on the car as a short term measure. Can't do any harm!
(I intend to start off, as I mean to go on)
Stuff I need to order:
1. 2 x Goodyear Wranglers All Season to match the back.
2. New Rear Break Disc, as the previous calliper failed and took the disc with it.
3. Upgraded Steering Wheel (Any Advice? - Don't want to break the bank, but the current one is awful)
4. Logic 7 (On the previous Discovery I owned, this was an upgrade which I undertook -- hoping to do the same again, so if anyone is selling any parts please PM)
5. Two Front Air Springs/ Shocks (The Driver side was leaking, but I decided to replace both including shocks)
6. I have no bluetooth, originally I thought about installing a stock Land Rover unit, however I really want bluetooth audio. If I install a Parrot, will this work OK with Logic 7 etc?
That is all for now.
