Backlight on retro-fit radio remote buttons to base model?

Thanks to alinton I now have the audio controls installed and operational in my '07 S+ (with base audio).
Much more convenient then reaching for the stereo controls plus needed for the LR ipod integration kit I am about to have fitted.

I noticed this evening when driving with the lights on that the new audio controls are not backlit like the buttons on the cruise control......anyone retrofit and have the backlight working? Perhaps the dealer needs to enable the remote control to have this work?

I assume of course the the stereo controls are backlit as standard like the cruise buttons.

Thanks

They are backlight in models that come with them as standard. Strange, power must come from the headunit for the light or something.
