| Battery only charging half full |

Today I checked some live data with the IID tool. I found the battery state of charge at 35% and a battery current of 20A.
Then I took the D4 on a 4 1/2 hour non stop drive after which the current dropped to just one amp and a SOC of 50%.
Could it be that the  BMS somehow makes the car only charge to 50% and then more or less stops charging?
Now I know why there are often problems with the park heater in winter 
I use a Traxide system with a 55ah yellow top. I assume the IID calculates the SOC only of the main battery and not of the whole system.
Is there any way to convince the car to top up the battery without the use of an external charger just by driving? Life in the slow lane
