"Beep Beep" After Unlock On D4
Not sure if it's because I've messed with the alarm sounder but now I get a quiet double beep each time I unlock my D4. I have checked with my IIDTool the lock/unlock beeps are still turned off.
My guess is it's beeping to say there is a fault, like it does when you try to lock it with a door open.
Generally means the cars not locking, sounds like a door lock isn’t working. Lock it, put key well away and manually check all doors or possibly the bonnet catch microswitch is fubar
The microswitch likes to get covered in crude and corodes the contacts. Simple to test - unplug it and use a paperclip to shortcircuit the plug.LRs are a fond memory, apart from the maintenance.

I thought beeps after unlocking indicated that the perimeter (alarm) had been triggered since last locked? Motion sensor activated..... all that good stuff.
Beep on locking usually indicates boot or door open (not quite fully shut)..... but you have asked about unlocking.

After MrH’s suggestion I tried all the doors without the key close by and they were all locked, I then opened the bonnet and slammed it closed hard and no more beeps!

I like these issues on the forum that get wrapped up with a solution that is shared. Especially when it's so simple. It stops us all wondering and lodges in the data banks for future reference.
