How best to play Apple Music with D4 BT module in a D3?
Hi, I’m hoping someone can give a Definitive answer on what the best device is for playing Apple/amazon music from my phone via BT is? Searching has only set to confuse me as as I’m not sure if I can use a d4 set up or not as I’ve brought the upgrade D4 module from Wiggs a while ago for my 2006 D3 HSE. I have the iPod connection socket/port in the lid of centre arm rest/fridge but no cable, so never tested it. TIA

The D3/D4 BT module does not support streaming audio (A2DP) profile. It’ll only do phone calls.
As you have an ACM kit, the most cost efficient way is probably to achieve what you want with a Bovee module. See https://boveeusa.com/.
Edit: are you sure it’s an iPod connector and not a gsm kit connector?

Not sure tbh it’s just where my RRS iPod connected so assumed it was that? How do I tell if it’s GSM or iPod?

Having looked closer pretty sure it’s GSM... what are my options now using the AUX port then?

Try searching. AUX input devices are numerous on eBay, there's literally dozens of solutions it all depends what your budget is.
Also, that might not be an iPod connection port you've got in the cubby box.

Hi there - I’ve done a bit of research but can’t find a solution to stream music from modern iPhone to disco 3 (with Harmon karmon unit). There are the obvious Bluetooth modules (some not available like Africa Outdoor or the Parrot kit) that plug into the aux - however the volume levels with this device is too low.
I’ve seen older posts recommending an amp (Boostaroo?) but can’t find these available in the UK.
Is anyone aware of a modern day solution for this (surprised not a common question).

I bought an Mpow Bluetooth 5.0 receiver System from Amazon and installed it in the Aux port. It connects automatically to my iPhone when I turn on the ignition and I stream music that way.
I am looking at trying to install it permanently behind the console somewhere, so it is permanently connected.2008 D3 HSE Stornoway Grey (UK)

yeah, its fine. The volume needs to be turned up a wee bit more than the radio but very far from being too low.2008 D3 HSE Stornoway Grey (UK)

Have also been looking to add Bluetooth and thks for the heads up
I’ve added a D4 steering wheel and aux socket , found a wiring loom so the aux socket was just plug and play having the base system with no amp
Added the aux socket to the blank in the heater module , pic was me just test fitting everything
See the Mpow also does calls, can u use the steering wheel buttons for that please
At the end of the day wish to add Bluetooth in order I can use an iPod, iPhone for audio and also calls

To be honest with you this is fitted in my D3 back home, as there are no radio stations outside of major cities/towns and that also goes for the cellphone signal, which is very patchy once off the major roads.
I can't remember actually using the iPhone whilst it was connected.
Your post on the aux plug in the front console was very interesting and, along with installation of a Garmin Nuvi in place of the current Sat Nav screen (for some reason the Sat Nav in South African spec D3's works in South Africa but the minute you go over the border into Zimbabwe/Zambia/etc, it doesnt have those maps! ) are on my to do list once I get back to it.
I'm not sure how much space is behing the front console to have an aux plug and fit the Mpow?
