I am looking for a bike rack for taking bikes on the back of the DISCO3 which does NOT have a tow bar fitted. The dealer told me for this I need a tow bar fitted which is a lot of money just to carry a couple of bikes. Anyone know of a suitable device which can be used without fitting a tow bar?

I think ronp has done this for one lightweight bike. However IIRC LR do not recommend a bike rack that is supported by the tailgate "To finish first, one first has to finish ...."

Hmmm, would he not need a towbar for that
I've got a similar trailer, but have 4 bikes mounted on top of the hard lid, not lashed to the sides "To finish first, one first has to finish ...."

disco3kenny, not sure whether that's legal, overall width looks a wee bit wide (might need front and rear marker lights on the furthermost left and right bikes), and the bars/bikes would present a hazard to pedestrians/other road users, plus the trailer looks like 505kg capacity so full up, with bikes on either side do you recon it would be more that the 600kg gross limit, recon plod might give yer a ticket for that set up if yer unlucky or have an accident, the insurance company will not pay as yer over weight!

Mikeham, have you considered a roof-mounted solution?
