The trailer socket on my D3 was checked this morning and it was confirmed that the connection for the right rear light was faulty. Now I am waiting for a new socket to be ordered and installed.
Perhaps those who are having trouble with the reversing lights should have their sockets checked too (unless they know from other trailers that the socket is ok).

I've just bought an Atera Duro XL 3 bike carrier with the optional 4th bike attachment. It's not cheap (cost £299 all in from http://www.chwhite.btinternet.co.uk/html/atera_duro_xl.html) but is very well made, sturdy and is easy to attach and detach despite its weight. I was impressed by the service from CH White who added some useful installation instructions of their own, part assembled the 4th bike attachment before despatching it to me and included an extra webbing strap for added security.
