Have just had the same issue... mechanic has given me the page from the workshop manual which talks about "bedding in" new shoes/pads. This process should also be used after mud or when the sqeak starts. It is essentially a pump the footbrake and hold and release hand brake sequence.Near enough 40 degrees South!!!

I was surprised to be honest that the dealer said this - but hey, it worked in my favour so it makes a change
