Had my 1st bird strike in the D3 this evening.
I was driving through country lanes at about 55mph and a car coming the other way frightened a baby pheasant, it flew at me and hit the front, could not stop as the car behind was too close.
Pulled up a few miles down the road and checked the front, no obvious damage just me shaken a bit, the bang could be heard all the way into the car when it hit.
Drove back to look for bird and it was dead, moved it off road into bushes.
I can say, having had bird strikes in the Jeep this felt a lot more safe and secure.

A suicidal bird (pigeon or a crow) decided to fly right in front of me while going 75 on a motorway yesterday evening. Impacted on the drivers side of the windscreen with the loudest bang I ever heard. Massive cloud of feathers engulfed the cars following me! Looked back to the windscreen, expecting a big crack to have appeared, but nothing, only another mark in addition to the hundreds of dead fly/etc marks that I had collected. IE - 05 D3 TDV6 HSE - Zambezi Silver
SA - 07 VW Golf TDI - White - Sold!
