Black Bum?

My Fuji white SDV6 D4 quickly acquires a layer of black soot which is quite obvious resulting in black streaks if it gets wet.
Anyone else notice this? D3 even though mapped does not have as much soot.

Is this on the rear bumper? If so, haven't noticed any.

Could it be related to the problem that necessitated the fix you had done recently?

I think it maybe be rated but was told soot is normal on 3.0L
Was not convinced it was a my remapped 2.7 smokes due to map and I don't get soot.
If revved in neutral it will put out black smoke.
I will see what the back looks like after the mod.

Like all Discos it gets dirtiest on the rear but I wouldn't say that I've had any black deposits tbh

Definitely black soot not road grime.

As above .. There's not a wiff of smoke that comes out of mine ..

In fact the exhaust tailpipes are still clean as the day I got it

My my2012 gets a sooty backend too, especially if I've been welding the welly to the Wilton. I don't see it as a problem, just a bit of smut getting kicked out of the exhaust.

My D4 - V8 (petrol) gets a layer of black grime on the rear (that looks like soot) - are you sure it is not just tire rubber and other road users soot ?

As the D3 doesn't get it I am sure it is soot. Seen the black road grime on cars in UK we don't get much road grime on Oz for some reason.
