This morning I am going over to Mick Flacks to investigate why I have at least 1/2 a litre of oil in my V6 valley !
I have bought a replacement oil filter housing and cap and Mick has a spare gasket for it so that will be the first port of call. Fingers crossed that cures it.
Sucking the oil out of the valley before I go The happiest of people don't necessarily have the best of everything;

Just returned from Micks. I had twisted and taken a piece out of the rubber seal on the oil filter cap but he has replaced the whole unit (Quite a job !)as i had bought it and have had trouble for a while There is quite a big gap in the valley where oil can gather. He also found a diesel leak which had started a few days ago and had quite kindly cleaned the oil out of the valley So it is all back together with new housing, oil filter and seal plus anti freeze. I will monitor it over the next few days (Its quite easy to monitor just look at the driveway when i move the car ) Thanks Mick you are a star
How black is my valley (with a mixture of oil and diesel )
How clean is my valley (Ready to fit new unit and for Mick to put it all back together )
Then just to finish it off i have just found out I have puncture

My Father said, when I purchased my first car, that that was the easy and cheap part & after 50 odd years I totally agree.
