Blackview 650 and power magic pro

Looking at getting a 650 HD2ch with power magic pro, any one installed this model in a 2015 D4? Any problems issues tips? Is it insurance approved ? I'm with NFU.

Finally decided to get one after going all the way in court with a taxi driver who ran into the back of my stationary defender a couple of years ago, he claimed I reversed into him and produced a false witness who didn't materialise in court. Took photographs at time which enabled me to win case. Turned out he also had a series of whiplash claims! A stressful experience but lesson learned take lots of photographs! So blackvue looks like the answer I've been looking for!

Ive got a 500GW which I've been pleased with in MY12 apart from the GPS packing up which I need to get sorted out. As for the NFU when I asked they didn't recognise it to save any money on my insurance premium. Still its good to have incase of any accidents that clearly aren't your fault, but also can be very incriminating too!!

Iv got the 650 in my 2015my .. No issues at all .

Don't use the power pro .. Just on all the time .

The wifi switches itself off after 10 mins so hardly any power drain .

Not told the insurance company ..

TimA & Wiggs - Thinking of fitting a Blackview on the back.

Which part of the screen did you fit to and did you stick it to the glass or make a body mount - top, bottom etc.

Have you managed to fit in an area which is cleared with the rear wash/wipe?

I fitted one in my MY2011. Rear camera stuck on glass in area covered by wash/wipe. Is visible in the rear view mirror and has a white light that is on all the time it is powered. I will get a bit of tape and cover that up.

I slightly bent the very fragile connecting pin for the rear camera trying to force it through the rubber connecting tube to the rear tailgate, but having bent it back it seems to have survived.

When I was switching insurance from BMW to Disco my insurer asked me if I will have DVR cam on board.
Lady over the phone said it "might" reduce insurance costs. When queried the reliability of recordings; if say I will state I will have DVR in car all the time, but camera would be removed before crash for maintenance or something else and recording wasn't available, she replied that recording will be used whenever footage is available.
So no need for 100% reliability issue in times when cam wasn't recording during accident for some reason.
This particular insurer would like you to have it but will not penalize you if footage wasn't recorded.
Strange a bit, but that is insurance for you.
