Cheers Ian, 3rd Blackvue arrived today.

Is the only difference between the DR400G-HD II and the DR400G-HD the lens cover?

Is the 1.40 firmware for the original dr400 not the latest one?
I might be wrong, but it makes sense that the latest camera would start on a new 1.01 firmware and be updated separately to the other one.

There is a forum here:

which may give you some hints and solutions.

Downloads"

There appears to be only one download for the 400 and it's dated April this year.

I can't see anything specific software for the HD2, it all seems to be for the original HD, so your HD2 probably has the latest.
Others have did the same as you: http://forums.redflagdeals.com/merged-offi...47913/110/

But you should still be able to format your card with the formatting software.

EDIT: told a lie - some are saying their HD2 has 1.040

United Kingdom 2008 Discovery 3 TDV6 HSE Auto Tonga GreenDiscovery 3

Been reading this for a while, but still not clear on one thing: is the unit's input power 12V?

Thinking of fabricating a separate wire (have quite a few spare tips lying around) to power it up through a fuse to my second battery (instead of chopping the power cable that comes with it - for possible resale reasons) as I've done with a number of other gadgets - am I missing something?

TIA

(when I convince SWMBO it's a necessity and order one that is Whistle )

Cheers Thumbs Up

Picking up on Wiggs's comment higher up the thread and seeing as Ian doesn't see to have the 380HD, can existing owners/tinkerers comment on how easy it would be to remove the 400's body and spray black? Would the holding bracket need spraying as well or is it black already?

TIA
