Ok, so I know a lot of you on here aren't too keen on the chromey bits , but today I added a few and think it has really lifted my new machine.
I started with Lockwood sill protectors, which are fantastic quality - really impressed! Then I put on chrome door handle and upper mirror covers, and the window sill bright trim. Also replaced my standard vent grille with a bright finish one (many thanks to the many posters on here who told me about the hands-behind-you method for removing the old one )
I think the finished look is good, and doesn't look too blingy. IMO, its those big 20" wheels that make the D3 look like a bit dodgy...

Yep, but once I've taken her off road, I won't mind the cleaning!
I'll try and get some pics on here later today - it was getting dark when I finished.

Looking forward to the pictures, I'm considering doing something with my grille.
You're way off with the 20" wheel comment, even though I put the 18" back on the 20" stormers looked far better and very subtle with it.
22" is a different matter. D3 incl. genuine glass windscreen, front bi-focal headlights, full width rear bumper, self levelling washer bottle contents and audible 'tick tock' indicator stalk

Yep, you're probably right - I was only stirring! 20" isn't much different to 19" really!

They trash too easily when off road (but then probably most with 22" wheels don't venture far off road)

On the Grill side of things.
Can you just buy a new chrome version and slot it in ?
I have seen a number of threads about putting on D4 look-a-likies and it looks too complicated for a ham fisted numpty like me.
I want one I can just plug/play like the original but with a chrome grill like the D4 D4 HSE - Aintree Green
D4 Orkney my13 - gone
Stornaway D4. Gone, Didn't like it at all
D3 silver manual. Loved my first LR
