Hi Geoff.

Great work on this.

I'm a newbie - this is post 3 - so not sure if I am allowed to PM yet.

Maybe you could drop me a message ?

Really interested in your kit.

Thanks

Module and wheel controls needed for Disco 3

Just bought a 2006 LR3 SE (here in the states) and would like to get the BT module, but also need the steering wheel controls. My radio does have the keypad/phone icon, but no nav. Will I be able to get both from a sponsor here? Geoff, I here you might be able to help?

I have a factory fitted bluetooth but it continually has to be reconnected, can you supply only the module? If so will it take any modification to make it fit or is it a plug and play job?

Thanks

You can update your original module to stop having to re pair all the time .

If you do want a D4 module then you will have to make up a lead as the 2 connectors are compleatly different

Too much information!

Wow!
I just spent three days going through all the information and threads pertaining to Nav-mods- switching RRsport into thinking that it's a FFRR and Bluetooth/ phone book on nav screen...etc...

I am exhausted and can't seem to find the solution(if there is one) to the following question
Mind you: I could have glanced over it after reading 100+ forum pages with 15+ posts/page on this topic)

Background
Updated blue tooth software on 06-RRSsc with gap IIDTool. Phone book/contacts load to radio screen
Performed mod listed here: http://disco3.co.uk/forum/topic74474.html?...+rover+nav
Basically switching fourth wire - to have FFRR nav screen display/functionality
No problems with mod everything is working as expected.
Yes I've read many times that my RRsport gets confused where to send/originate information -like the phonebook via blue tooth to the original display screen on the radio or to the Nav screen.

The Nav screen is where I'd like it to be.

I did manage after a hard reset to get the phone to appear on the nav screen, but the next time i started my sport - it was back to the radio screen only
I have all of the options that where offered on the RRSsc for 2006 - but now the question

Question: Is there a way to have the phone book with contacts appear/load to the nav screen all the time?

I've enabled the BT in the configs and set Dock-BT as well with the gap tool (awesome tool BTW)
I've re-flashed the newest version of BT again after this FFRR mod was performed
I can get Missed-Dialed-Received calls on the nav screen with no problems
Phone book icon still in grey (not a useable button)

Is there a mod around this? Unplug wires into radio module? MOST cable? etc....
Is there some type of config choice that will work with the IIDTool?
Can I get my sport to ignore the radio display and dial pad buttons?
Can I get my sport not to send info to the radio and instead just the Nav screen?
Would a D4 BT module work to get rid of this phone book problem?
Is this a phone problem? setting that need to be changed? (using an LG-G3 phone)

Let me know if there are any solutions to this - (phone book to nav screen only)
If there are links or if this has actually been talked about here on this forum or other forums
Please point me in the right direction.
Thanks in Advance
Very tired in US

I think it's more reliable if you use the d4 module instead of the d3 module. Thumbs Up

Thanks for the fast response - I've seen your screen name many of times in these researched posts.

So this will still happen with the new D4 BT module just not as frequently?

I've got to put my d4 module back in, so I can't 100% confirm. May be able to confirm if I put it back in tomorrow. Thumbs Up

Otherwise someone else will be along soon. Thumbs Up

In my experience a D4 module with the Range Rover mod is worse .. Lots of lock ups

Please bare in mind the telephone was never designed to be displayed on the D3 screen

You'd be better off fitting a D4 screen if you want that function

Thanks Wiggs - who I learned from all my research - knows bluetooth!
From the start of my search your name was all over the place in each thread.
Thanks for all your replies/guidance - Very Very helpful!

Sad to hear that there isn't any simply solution to this.
I know that we're breaking the rules of RRS's and it's too bad the FFRR a better system.

I wonder what is making the phone book appear on the nav screen one time and then nothing
-more times towards not appearing at all.

Anyway - Thanks for saving me some time & money by not having to purchase a D4-BT module.
I will look into the D4 Screens - Something tells me
that they are not easy to come by, nor easy on the wallet.

Thanks again for all the great info and feedback in all the posts I read...

2005 LR3/D3 SE with phone buttons but "no phone fitted" message. I'd love to add an "oem-ish" bluetooth module, D3 or D4 (not sure the difference) as I'd like as easy an install as possible and reusing as much of the factory wiring as possible. Geoff, sending you a PM as soon as I can.
