Bluetooth streaming on Disco4 2010
During the summer of 2016 i bought the "Bovee 1000" to stream Spotify on my D4 2010. Unfortunately since December there's a "connection error" message in the D4 screen and no Spotify since then. Don't know what is happening and i can't solve the problem.
So, my question for you all is, what gadget do you use to stream music on your D4 2010-2012?
Thanks you all!

I'm just asking because I want to buy another gadget so I can stream Spotify but I'm not sure what gadget should I get. Any positive experiences using others then the Bovee is much appreciated!

Hi Nuno
I have no experience with Bovee but in my MY2010 I have a Tune2Air (WMA1000) that connects through the iPod connection and it works quite good.
There is a thread about this somewhere ono this site; try searching for bluetooth streaming.
Good luck

Thanks! Tune2air or Bovee are the same. It was working perfectly but suddenly just stoped and now I can only get a "connection device error" every time I pair an iPhone. I'm just trying to see if there's other valid options!

I got that for a short period between iOS updates. Also, you may have to re-connect manually, e.g. if you have driven the car without your phone or someone else has connected to the Bovee.
AFAIK you can only re-connect during the first minute. If you get the error message try rebooting the Bovee (e.g. hard reboot by disconnecting and reconnecting it; you will notice the blue light flashing as a sign of it being in "parring mode").

Hi Nuno,
Can't speak for the device you mention but just something I've learned recently regarding streaming and Bluetooth.
Seems there is an issue streaming Bluetooth audio via an iPhone, IF there is an iPod (or other audio in device?) plugged in at the same time.
Found this issue where I couldn't Bluetooth iPhone to car after I'd plugged my old iPod classic in.
Read on a RRS forum this was a known issue with no fix.
Unplug iPod cable and Bluetooth streaming all good again
Not sure if this helps.Luke

Hi Luke
That's a very good observation. However, I guess it only applies to newer D4s as MY2010 does not come with native BT streaming (only handsfree mobile). Hence the need for a Tune2Air/Bovee thingy.
However, my issues may have been related to having a USB stick with music fitted while at the same time trying to stream music via Tune2Air. I will unplug the USB stick and see if things improve. THX.

Hi Nuno
Not sure if this helps, but on recent versions of ios, you can delete the iphone Music app. I was using Spotify so I deleted the Music app from my phone. I then got a connection error with Tune2Air.
So I had to reinstall Music (even though I dont use it) in order to connect to Tune2Air.
thanks

guthrie, thank you so much for your advice! The god dam fck Bovee/Tune2air works! Can you imagine that by simply erasing Apple Music app it would be impossible to stream Spotify via Bovee/Tune2air?
So, for you guys that have Iphone 5/6 with 16g do not erase Apple Music app to save some space because it will interfere with your streaming using other apps.
Go figure...

I want to get one of these. Two questions please!
1) Does it pair automatically when you start the vehicle and select iPod as your audio source
2) What happens if you receive or make a call whilst listening to music - Does the in-car bluetooth phone system still work?

The music app will have all the necessary codecs for audio files associated with it. Delete the app then it probably takes off all the audio streaming capabilities too.
BT is quite complicated under the skirts.
When you request a BT connection the setup dialogue between the devices negotiate capabilities - no audio codecs then I suspect your pairing request is going to be rejected or fail.Current : Discovery 4 HSE (2012 spec)
