Was talking to SWMBO over lunch yesterday (near Barcelona, in the sunshine having a glass of Rioja, some tapas etc ) and she asked about the Eezi Awn I have and do I use it and is it easy to use...so I mentioned the Fox Wing and "how much better, bigger and easier it is to use"
So...a couple of questions...
1) If fitted to a roof rack, must it be a full-length rack (mine is between a half and three-quarters rack) ?
2) Could it also be fitted to the LR roof rails (with some suitable brackets fabricated) or would it be too heavy and run the risk of ripping the rails off the roof when driving ?
(However, we are now back in Luxembourg after our week away and I wonder if the holiday euphoria will wear off and SWMBO will now say no...)
Cheers. The next American ex-pat that calls it a "truck" is going to find out what 2.7 tons feels like on their foot...

You could fit it to a short rack but you would need 1 roof bar right at the front. It could also be fitted to the LR bars if you had the long roof rails and as you say some suitably fabricated brkts.
Here is a pic of the new Columbus tent being used last weekend at Walters Arena

oh well...won't work then...I have 4 LF170's mounted on the roof rack. A roof bar will block them.

I take it you mean rails that are different/longer to the "standard" rails that are fitted ?The next American ex-pat that calls it a "truck" is going to find out what 2.7 tons feels like on their foot...

Yep - that's me...taking a temporary rest to admire the scenery...wasn't stuck at all...
The rack comes up to the crease line on the roof - so I suppose it depends on where the mounting point are on the Foxwing. The next American ex-pat that calls it a "truck" is going to find out what 2.7 tons feels like on their foot...
