'Body Off'
Prepare to be scared, really scared - I'm trembling as I type!
Just seen a post on another forum with a D3 Section that there are certain maintenance and/or repair procedures which require the D3 body to be taken off the chassis i.e. replacing fuel lines and replacing TDV6 fuel pump belt at 90k miles. Our very own Shiny Moose even posted a picture of a D3 body on a ramp separated from its chassis!

It actually comes off quite easily and is designed to do so.
Saw one at Shuker's recently having an engine fettled after the owner drove it until it stopped post filling it with unleaded.

I checked with my dealer and the body does not have to come off according to them....and the time est seemed too low for that as well.
Oh and belts are 105,000mile service item, not 90,000 according to them.Cheers
Original servce instructions from LR said to remove body for pump belt replacement but it ca now be done without the need as most techy's have sorted their own ways of doing it...TLO has left the building.......

Phewwwwww
Dont know why I worry, averaging approx 220miles a month. The chassis would need replacing before that service for me anyway

We can all sleep easily in our beds tonight thanks to Nick's advice!
Reckon I'll get my 90k mile service done at Yeovil just in case other Stealer techies have been slow to develop their own fuel pump belt replacement techniques!

And its not a problem either
If you don't have faith in your dealer - change them for one you... like Yeovil, Shuker's etc.
