Bonnet flaps about like a dying fish!!
Hi guys just wondering if anyone else here has experienced their bonnet bouncing and banging under windy conditions? I am pretty sure it's secured correctly and no open bonnet warnings came up. Kind of scared me a bit as I worried it may open up in the wind and cover the windscreen :shock or am I the only one with a tin foil bonnet held down with a paperclip??

Hi
Maybe not the same but .........
I used to get that on my D3, all looked like it was secure after shutting it, got on the motorway and at 70+ started to lift on LHS.
Just push down hard on the offending corner, it clicks in
I had same when I picked up my new one from the dealer the other week. All looked OK when I set off, no warning lights. Hit motorway and shocked , the bonnet started to move.D4 HSE - Aintree Green

Clean the spring on the latches with a degreaser and make sure the catches spring free and fast, then lightly lubricate.Mark.

The best i find ( after hitting the motorway once and part of the bonnet lifting) is to close the bonnet and then then try and lift it to see if its secure... Its suprising to find that it may not catch each time, if not just lean on the bonnet till it clicksIf it ain't broke... Take it apart anyway, how else you gonna find out how it works

To be honest mine was all over the place this week......admittedly it was very very windy....but,even so, there was an unpleasant amount of lift from the drivers side when hit by a gust ........quickly forgot about it as I was having to concentrate very hard just to keep the car from being blown into oncoming traffic
I know the Disco has the aerodynamic properties of a garage door, but I have never been in a car more affected by a sidewind .....
I guess the things that make a Disco such a great car in "normal" conditions (soft suspension, lofty driving position etc)really work against it in the conditions we have had recently"Better to remain silent and be thought a fool, than to speak out and remove all doubt" ?.....what rubbish...

I've had a similar problem with mine where the release cable is sticking and I've had to push it back with a screwdriver to get the bonnet to latch shut. I presume I need to take the cable out and get some wd40 or similar down it as a more permanent fix.........has anyone done this?
