Booked in to check a few issues
Hi.
I am after your opinions on the below
My Disco 4 2016 (new to me in March) is booked I to Pulborough Harwood’s today to look at a couple of issues while it’s still under warranty and has a service plan.
It pulls to the left
Oil reads over full. Was serviced a just before I picked it up in March
Stop/ Stsrt not working
Firstly they want to charge me £240 for the wheel alignment. Is that right?
Secondly on the Stop/Start even though I have fully charged batteries and no difference they say the computer has to be told they have been charged???

Kwik fit with Hunters for a full 4 wheel alignment just cost me £70. Anything over that is crazy. For £120 you can have a deal where they will do the alignment as many times as you wish / need over 2 years. Also you can see on the screen as they do it.James favourite hobby is writing in the third person.

Not OK to be charged if still in warranty for like that
SS stopped working on mine long ago they checked it still same although they road tested it YEAH RIGHT
booking in as well with few concerns and I hear there is new software patch for SS issues

My car has always slightly pulled to the left and I’ve paid for a hunter alignment twice and still not quite right. Don’t really notice it but it feathers the outside edge of the near side, front tyre slightly.
Mines booked in for its final service (under warranty) also to get the SS fixed. Hasn’t really worked since the first year. I’m guessing the battery, which they say I’ll have to pay for as not covered but I’m keeping my powder dry at the moment for that fight.

Thanks for the replies. I did mention that I had seen info about a software update for SS but the guy seemed to ignore that and kept insisting that the car needs to be told about the batteries being charged. Surly the car monitors the battery voltage all by its self?Dorian Woolger

yes car also needs to be told to open door
switch the light on and fill up the tank and a few more actions
i suggest you talk to your alternator about your issues it might listen eventually

Ok an update
Got a call yesterday eve to say that the battery charging was taking a long time as they have to charge and test. If the test fails 3 times then they change the battery.
Call this morning. All done and replaced main battery. Now just to discuss the wheel alignment.Dorian Woolger

Did they speak to that old battery about its health issues to provide this diagnosis ?

Well ended up paying for the alignment. They claim that Kwik Fit would not be able to do a Disco properly will give it a bit more driving before I decide that they have done it properly!!
Re the SS. Its working for the first time since I have owned it so that a result.

Most dealers will charge for a 4 wheel geo check.
£240 sounds a bit excessive though. Guy Salmon did mine on my Jag for £135, and my D4 is going in next week for a new steering arm, and they have also quoted £135 for 4 wheel geo check.
Discos are very heavy and I’m on my third, they have all pulled very slightly left. It’s the camber of the road. Confirm it by driving to France, I’m sure it’ll pull slightly right over there!

As a matter of Guy Salmon Thames Ditton use Kwikfit for 4wheel alignment.

Bad experience there?
I went there as before the Disco 4 I had a MK2 Audi TT, then a MK3 TTS. I always went to Five Oaks Audi which is a Harwood Group dealer. The service there was always fantastic. I was a customer there for about 12 years.
Also Pulborough is my closet dealer. I was also luck enough to buy a Disco that has a service plan on it so kinda tied to main dealer unless there are other options in the area??Dorian Woolger
