| Brake Booster Replacement |

Hi All from the Antipodes,
I am about to replace my brake booster as it's increasingly 'full' of oil.
The recall was done about 10 yrs ago, but seems to have only marginally helped.
Anyways, I read in another post or sister forum, that the D3 booster can be replaced with a RR booster. Reason being, it's slightly bigger and therefore more vacuum. This does sound like a V8 thing.
However I can't find said post to confirm or get model and part numbers etc.
Is this factually correct? If so, is it worth it? If worth it, can anyone assist with p/n or a tutorial?

I fitted the one from a RRS super charged it made quite a difference to the brakes.

That's what I am after.
Could you let me know the year or model of said RRS and whether it's a simple bolt off, bolt on affair?

Would it not be sensible to also replace the vacum pump and one way valve as the same time.
Rather than contaminate a new booster

Yes it would. It may be about time and money in the end.
Certainly the one way valve should not be difficult or expensive to do.

I had the recall done again by landrover free of charge. My wife was driving the car when the pedal went hard and nearly had an accident. I called landrover and said the recall had failed and wanted it done again for free. They tried to tell me that as I wasn't the owner when it was originally done they wouldn't do it again for free. Long story short they did the repairs for free and now she's all good. Might be worth a try.

Exact same fixing. Change the master cylinder too - as it has to come off to change the booster - and ideally use an IID tool or similar to bleed the brakes as it uses the ABS pump to assist getting the air out one "wheel" at a time.
I'm pretty sure any RRS supercharged is the one. Mark.

Okies,
I have received my goodies from Island 4x4, in Kent I believe although I have no idea where that is! 
SC RR vacuum chamber and new D3 master cylinder.
So I've searched and not found a how to guide or thread. I could google it and will, but thought I'd throw it open here as well.

+1, for getting this replaced at no cost from LRA.
The original failure recall work, was not always done at the required standard and the brake booster fills with oil.
You should get this fixed at no cost as well.

I did mine a few years ago.
Simple enough to be honest.
In principle its as follows (From memory so may miss a bit!)
Remove aux battery if fitted
Remove horn
Remove ABS pump - so you have to disconnect the brake pipes
Remove all the plastic bits that form the "box"
Remove the master cylinder
Remove the Brake booster - you have to remove the brake pedal clip first - but you don't have to do it by the book (The LR manual says to remove part of the dash to get access, but you don't need to)
Refit is reverse.
Bleed the brakes - easier with an IID tool or similar that can run the brake bleed function - essentially is shuts off all corners apart from the one you are bleeding and uses the ABS pump to force the fluid out.
Bodsy may remember a bit more as he helped me do mine and I helped him do his subsequently. Mark.
