Brake fault after EPB shoe replacement and adjustment
Just replaced disks pads and EPB shoes as per bodsys brake bible put the car into epb bedding mode went to drive off and got a brake fault, noise from the rear of the car and constant beeping, normal I thought?? Carried on and bedding mode appeared to work fine she pulls up nicely, however I still have beeping and park fault error, when I try to apply the epb there’s a strange noise from the rear of the car, iId doesn’t show any constant errors it did have an overheating error but that’s cleared
Any ideas?

When I was bedding in my rears, I got to Morristons carpark without any beeping. Performed bedding in routine and it was all good. Observe your speed while doing it.
Check if shoes are in properly as I remember they were pain to replace.Disco 3 HSE (55) - gone

If it's over heating and drawing too much current, it could mean that something is sticking or is jammed in the mechanism.
Have you inspected the EPB to make sure everything moves as it should?

I’ll have to strip the wheels down and give it all a check, all seems well when carrying out the bedding in procedure, pull on the lever and she comes to a stop, just been out and as I moved off the noise came from the rear and all the warnings cleared themselves, when I stopped and tried the EPB the noise and errors returned, all very odd

Sounds like the internal gears in the actuator of EPB are jammed or jamming.
If the issue doesnt go away remove the motor/actuator module open it up and examine for damages/issues befor getting any part.

Did you wind back the mechanism in the EPB when you did all the work?
Sounds like the module needs wound back as its at the extent of its travel

Had a few hours on it this afternoon, what a place to put the EPB module!!
Had the top off and it was indeed on its limit freed it off checked the shoe set up again still had the fault, I’ve tried tightening the shoes so the wheel can’t move, slackened them right off and everything in between but still no joy, when I activate the EPB and it’s going through the motions the shoes aren’t tightening on the drum it’s as if the module isn’t pulling on the cables, I’ve had one disk off and checked the cables attached but still no joy, next step is disks off and see what if anything moves on EPB activation, is there a way to tell if there connected in the module? The drivers side looks good but not sure what I’m looking for on the other

It sounds like the the rod might have jammed when it reached the full extent of its travel. Did you pull the emergency release to free it?yµ (idµ - eAµ) ψ=mψ

Hmmmm I haven’t didn’t think I would need to as it wasn’t stuck on, could the rod be jammed even though I’ve freed the mechanism off?

Well it just sounds like you're not latched correctly. (the car not you personally )
If you had the cover off you can see if the actuator is latched to the D/S cable. The actuator runs up and down the screw drive which is powered by the motor and gear housing. If you still have the cover off check the D/S cable is actually latched. If it is, strip off the rear discs again whilst in service mode and check the shoes and expanders are fitted correctly. Adjust again as per Bodsy's bible and test the system again. Take your time with it, if you're not used to regularly working on the system its easy to miss something!yµ (idµ - eAµ) ψ=mψ

Haha! I’ve been accused of worse!
The D/S cable is attached from what I remember i also took some videos and can just see the cable end in the white connection, I think you’re right I’ll strip everything off and see what moves, oddly this morning when I drove off it made the noise but only for a few seconds and all the warning lights cleared, I tried the hand brake when moving slowly and again it pulled her up to a smart stop with no noise, I guess this is the EPB working and not some electronic wizardry activating the brakes?? I’ve not dared apply the EPB when stationary yet as it’ll be a few days before I can strip it all again

OK so from what you say it appears to be operating! You may just need to re-adjust and if so follow Bodsys bible to the letter and you will not go wrong!!
