Brake light Amber lowered suspension and special program off |
|
Braked today, Amber brake light on followed by special programs off fooled by lowered suspension.
Re started all clear. Braked again same happened. Found brake sensor at front damaged. Cut off and spliced together. Problem still happens when I brake, any ideas, just off to look at rear brake sensor. Do you not get a written warning on the dash when the sensor wears out? Thanks mark

I had something similar and TFC replaced my brake pedal switch which was out of range of the pedal.
I think it sits just behind the pedal arm.
Quick job, by TFC anyway.
It didnt solve the problem completely but it needed doing.

It is the brake light switch under the dash. Open up the dash about where your knees are. The brake light switchs is a blue and white plug. Unplug it and then see of there are damage to it and then replace it. Common issue. 2005 Discovery 3 V8 SE

Step one is to check if any of the brake lights aren't working. If at least one is working, it is unlikely to be the brake switch.
Step 2, If all brake lights not working, replace the switch. If one or two out, replace the bulbs.
