Brake Light appears confused! |
|
Seasons Greetings.
I've had to replace my rear off side brake light bulb twice in the last month and now appear to have a slightly strange set up. When the vehicle lights are off, all brake lights function as normal however, if I have side and or head lights on, the rear off side brake light appears to remain on constantly, with the high level and near side light only activating when I apply the brake.
Any ideas as to what might be going on here???
Thanks in advance. ----------------------------------------

Has the bulb been put in the right way? If it's a dual filament bulb and put in wrong the brake filament will light when the headlights are switched on.

So glad to see somebody else had this problem , as I recently purchased a old 2006 discovery 3 and last night my first outing in the dark I noticed my o/s brake light seemed to be stuck on (I must of purchased it like this )previously I had asked the other half to check them as I pressed the brake pedal and she said the lights work but that's a other story
So this morning I popped down to my local car spares shop came away with a few bulbs (lucas bulbs they sold me)
And changed the rear o/s brake light and it still did the same thing brake light stayed on
Am now thinking this is going to be a big problem
So I signed up to this forum and read this article put the bulb in the other way and it now works
Thanks Guys
