Any codes showing up on Diagnostics?
Might be a faulty brake light switch.
I've a spare used one you could try

If it was the switch the high level light wouldn't work

The D3 has 2 twin filliment bulbs each side,
so maybe you aren't looking at the correct bulb?
In any case swap the top and bottom ones to see if it helps.
Otherwise see if you have power coming in on the green/purple wire when brake pressed

Very common for both brake bulbs to pop at the same time.
Change them for decent quality stop+tail bulbs only.Mods:

I've just noticed that when my brake lights come on only the top two light up (as well as the centre high level). Is that normal? All 4 rear lights have dual filament bulbs so I'd have thought all 4 would light up when braking.
I have just fitted a new brake switch but that obviously works OK or nothing would light. I did have a bulb pop a few weeks ago and replaced it.'

Brian, you should only have single brake lights, one per side, totally normal.
There is a mod, which is linked in my signature, detailing how to mod your car for twin brake lights.
The bulbs are already there, you just need to follow the mod and add the extra wire.
Look in my signature for the twin brake lights link and see what you think.Mods:

Just went out to check my brake lights after reading this thread, only had the high level one working.
Both side bulbs had blown, all replaced and nicely lit up now
