Brake pad warning message

Hello I’ve just bought my first d3 it needed a few bits doing which I’ve done new front drive shaft and rear upper rear arm after I done the drive shaft took it for a drive all fine done after a finished the upper arm I’ve got a check brake pad message and light on the rear sensor all looks ok and wasn’t touched. But when I did the drive shaft I took the calliper off. Took the wheel back off and there isn’t a sensor wire at all. Could the fault be turned off before I purchased the car with a iid tool as it wasn’t on when I drove 100 odd miles home. Thanks
