brake pedal vibration

hi all

this is my first post to a forum so please be gentle

i have just had the 48K service done at a main dealer and also had the front discs and pads changed and also the brake fuild change.

since then i have a vibration through the brake pedal. the dealer says it is the rear discs as they are slightly scored.

i dont this this is true as there was no vibration before, it happens also whilst i have my foot on the brake and the car is stationary

i think it may be air in the brake lines but i am not sure

any ideas

cheers nigel

ABS system? Fault with it or air in system perhaps?
Did you demonstrate when stationary for them?

If it's there only under light braking (and may be accompanied by steering shimmy that disappears under harder braking) then it may be a wheel bearing on the way out

if its happening whilst you are stationary, then its nothing to do with moving/rotating parts. Would air in the system give the ABS unit something to get its nickers in a twist over?

if they havnt touched the rear brakes, and there was no vibe before, why would the stealer think it was the rears. Even when mine were well worn (just before replacing) there was no vibe. Wasnt part of St***stones was it?

Sorry, speed-read the original post, if it's happening when stationary then it's got to be ABS / air in pipework related Confused
