braking issue

Hi Guys,

Not long fitted new front discs and pads to my disco 3. When travelling i break but i don't seem to stop as quickly as before the disc and pad change. When i pump the break after 5 pumps the pedal is solid so i think break fluid is ok.

Any ideas?

Pads do take a few miles to bed in.

But maybe the pads aren't a good brand?

Have you given them time to bed in .......100 - 200 miles needed really. I'd expect the pedal to feel solid on the first dab, not the 5th Shocked Bleeding the system may be needed Question

Hi Guys,

what is involved in bleeding the brake system? is it DIY or trip to the garage?

U can diy. I used a pressurised bleeder, fits to cap and uses pressure from a tyre, very simple. Don’t run the master cylinder dry or I believe you then need an iid tool

When you say 5 pumps of the pedal, do you mean with engine off?

If yes, no need to bleed
