braking system on landrover discovery 3 automatic
I have a 3year old landrover discovery3. at the moment i am aboad with it in Spain. The problem I have been experiencing is the braking system on sharp hills` and other inclines. When you apply the brakes, they seem to slide for about 4ft,and it would appear wen my foot is right down it feels like solid not as you would expect a braking system to be I rang Beadles` of Sidcup and they told me to ask the garage where I have takenthe vehicle to check the servo to see if oil had been getting inot it bt they said that it was dry.I went for a test with one of there mechanics` and on a flat roof the brakes` work fine, they dont seem to have the answer.Could anyone advise?

Have you considered engaging HDC (Hill Descent Control) before encountering such conditions? The Bearded Dragon

I know its` been a while since I had this trouble but when I took it back home,to Beadles` dealership in sidcup they did the job at no cost as it would appear a fault in the braking system where as oil gets into the braking system via the vacuem pipe.So anyone in future having the same problem,i.e. brakes do not work on sharp hill descent until oil burn off ,of brake linings`

Land Rover have issued a recall for this, however some vehicles outside the vin range seem to also be affected.
