I appreciate you're keen Spooky, but shouldn't you leave it to a member of "Club they said it couldn't be done"?

Transgenic tomato anyone?

Thanks Paul, got an engine out of a 56 plate coming tomorrow with 33,000 on the clock to replace this one..
Sounds like a good find. How many hours does it take to fit an engine?Previously:
2005 D3 2.7 TDV6 S
1984 90 2.25 Petrol CSW
1992 90 200TDi Hard Top
1995 Discovery ES 300TDi
2003 90 TD5 Truck Cab
They rekon about 25 to remove and re-fit, however it turned up today and needs a few items replacing as the breakers arnt the most delecate at removing engines!!
Paul - Dad actually said why dont we just put a TDV8 back in..... if only 8)
thought also crossed my mind to repair the TDV6 coming out and wedging it in my 90.... 8) it would go like of a shovel!!You only live once, but if you work it right, once is enough.

Ask Pete Bell, he's done it already, and in LR Owner Mag
After 4 weeks, an second hand engine, which was put in, found to be FD taken out, then a new short motor put back in
at least shes just about good as new -BUT i have a fault, which is that its coming up on the dash display saying that high/low transmission change is not available.... although i am certainly taking back to the garage tomorrow, any ideas what it could be.....??You only live once, but if you work it right, once is enough.

Great to hear Out of interest, do you mind me asking the total price? 2020 SDV6 D5 HSE, Carpathian Grey +
2022 Tesla Model Y LR... almost Carpathian Grey
Previously : 2005 TDV6 SE Auto, Cairns Blue (288K) - ours for 16 years
£1770 to put a second hand engine in, run up and find its and take it out again, but that includes a new clutch and flywheel though which i needed any way - so about £1k for the engine element,
then about £4.5K for the new short motor including all labour.
all plus vat.
