When my car was collected on one occasion, LRA sent a large box truck (AA) with a load ramp that slid out horizontally before lowering to the ground. Where it impacted the ground it produced similar score marks. Only a thought.

But those marks go ritgh to the back where the car was parked and as such the rollers from the flat bed would not have gone back that farMY17 D5 1st Edition Namib Orange

I think there are obvious marks further down where the bed dug into the floor slightly.MY07 Freelander2 SE Santorini Black - Gone

I'm no expert, but it seems that this oil pressure/light business is not as straightforward as one might assume. From the little bit I've read it appears that oil pressure varies throughout the engine, and it's possible to have an oil problem in one part of the engine,enough to cause a catastrophic failure, whilst the sensor is still giving a normal reading. Just a thought.

[quote="gstuart"]Hi
gstuart
Where is this actually from? If you follow the link, and look a the part of the page you copied the image above, it states:
"Check the oil level systematically using the manual oil dipstick"
Is it a generic one regarding the type of engine,as it is used in various brands? As there isn't a manual dipstick!MY07 Freelander2 SE Santorini Black - Gone

Hi
Indeed as DM said it’s from the workshop manual
I’m wondering as the 2.7 has the dipstick but the 3.0 doesn’t
Alas I’m wondering if both engines have the same oil pressure so they’ve included the dipstick from the 2.7 within the specs , will have a look to see if they are indeed the same

Did you manage to get this diagnosed by LR in the end? What was the verdict?

Still waiting.
They were supposed to call back today, however the person dealing with my car went home without calling. The other customer service person said that the first knew all the details so best if she updates me. I have told them that I expect an email on the best time to call as I'm on a course the next 3 days, abnd dont know when I will be available, and who exactly to speak to.
My guess is that it isnt good news.MY07 Freelander2 SE Santorini Black - Gone
