Bubbly window trims
Hello forum,
The window trims on the money pit that is my disco have gone all bubbly I assume this is the metal or whatever is inside them degrading. Does anyone know where I can get some from for what is a reasonable price? Also how hard are they to change?

Try these: https://www.lrparts.net/lrc2318-window-wai...-seal.html
As you say, it's corrosion that gets to them. They're supposed to be easy to replace, one screw only. I'm going to replace mine as well, so let me know how you get on
Blimey, for Freelander 2 you pay that much for a single seal I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

Did mine on a previous D3... absolute doddle... one screw and lift out, replace then screw back in. Mine were changed on the drive in the middle of a Finnish winter... just about to do them again on my current D3.
Search around for the best prices though as the vary a lot ! The kit is good value but I only need to change two of mine so I think I'll just get the ones I need.I want to see the sweets before I get into your windowless van... I'm not stupid!

Hi mate
Hope ur well, Bless u, my main concern was getting them off the metal without marking the paintwork as in the past on other makes of vehicle they were crimped hard onto the metal lip so we’re hard to remove
So many thks again for the heads up

Hi mate, I've put a couple of photos in below for your reference.
There are actually two small screws on the front trims (one on the rears), all Torx T25, very easy to undo but DON'T take the trim off until you have the new ones there as the old ones will bend as they come off and then can't be re-used. A plastic trim removal tool may help to remove the old ones if they are sticking to the door frame (due to gunk). They have plastic locator pins on the back so these need to come out as you pull (towards you)..
A good time to clean the top of the door frame !

That’s awesome, thk u so much and very grateful
Indeed already got the set of window trims and funny enough one of the new ones is slightly bent , should be able to straitened it with a small pin hammer and piece of wood etc
Do have a few clip / panel removal tools so indeed should make life easier if there stuck
Thks again
