About to buy - couple of questions... |
|
First of all 'Hello'.
I've been looking at this forum for a while now & it really is a fantastic resource. After months of research I'm finally in a position to order a new Disco 3 HSE. So this is going to be the first in what will probably be a very long line of questions....
Has anyone out there used the integrated telephone system with a Blackberry as a mobile phone?
Also, is there a TV option? I know that the Range Rover has sat nav with TV, but I can't find it anywhere in the Discovery brochure. If not, has anyone had it retrofitted?
Thanks,
M.

If your Blackberry has bluetooth, then you can use this method of connection. It works very well with my SE P910i.
The RRS is going to get a TV option on the 2007 model, so the D3 HSE might do as well. Otherwise a TV option can be fitted - some of the RRS guys have done this, but it costs £650 or more! Matt

wow, thanks for the quick reply.
After posting I found the search button and there's a few posts already about adding TV so I'll have alook in more detail once I actually get the car.
Spoke to the dealer & if I place an order this week I should get delivery in early September.
It's going to be a long couple of months...

Make sure you negotiate a good deal, as there should be quite a decent discount on a HSE.
Good luck - welcome to the fold.

There are quite a few threads on getting the best prices on here. Aim for doing the deal at the end of the quarter , which I think is the end of June, and be ready to do the deal when you do the negotiating.
The best prices for a HSE that I have seen paid was £38,000 for a new one. Typically I think it is possible to get it around £40k. Depends how willing the salesman is to deal.
I rang loads of dealers to get a good deal.
Good luck!

Quick update...
I finally got round to doing a test drive at at Harwoods in Surrey this morning. The guy that I went on the drive with let me pair my Blackberry with the integrated tel system. I tried it out and can confirm that it does work.
The TV option isn't available (at the moment) but that's been covered in the other replies.
I was ready to place an order this morning but couldn't get the discount that I was after so I'll shop round for a bit. I want to get an order placed this week for September delivery....
