Buy a Hawkeye?
Hi guys,
Thanks to the local dealer closing last year I am now an hour away from the closest LR service centre. I've had the probs with the FBH deciding not to work halfway through the winter - again - and read the threads on how to reset - no luck. Now I'm wondering whether to spend £350 on one of these things (bearmach hawkeye) and wondered if anyone has any any experience of using them i.e. easy to use, any good, reset FBH fault codes (successfully ) etc.
Also will it tell me that there are a million other things 'slightly' wrong that will bother me but arent really a problem - if you know what I mean...
The idea of a 2 hour round trip, an hour or so wait at the dealer for something I could do on the drive is tempting me to stump up the cash. All opinions are very welcome please
PS where do they plug in etc TDV6 HSE AUTO
Defender 90 CSW
Contact Colin (BBS Spy) at Blackbox Solutions (one of the site sponsors).
For £100 less than the Hawkeye, Colin can supply you with a FaultMate FCR, which can read fault codes from every module fitted to the D3 and reset them. Excellent piece of kit and small enough to fit in your glovebox so is always with you and ready for every any eventuality.
The socket all these devices pug in to is just above the pedals (in a RH drive car)Now an ex-D3 owner after 7 happy years. Miss the car but not the big bills
