All the G4’s have that switch to the left of the instrument binnacle... this is also close to hand to assist switching them off quickly should the need arise...

Dip beam all agree on. Main beam not dip but the alternative elements. Full beam is main beam and dip beam elements/main beam and drive lights or even dip beam, main beam and (legally fitted and wired!) drive lights at the same time!
But the attitude that no one knows if they are used on the road illegally, maybe not all the time, pales when the time comes you do not dip in time and cause some ones death, maybe yours by dazzling an oncoming driver in such away they have no recourse to avoiding the intense light and lose their bearings and hits you head on, may be a truck diver who you will not see until way after a car due to the height of the cab and their sight line and the lower aspect of the headlight location.
Nearly as bad as the W***nkers that have an inability to use their rear fog lights properly (or badly aligned front ones). In fact the human eye is attracted to the brighter light source and therefore is likely not to see brake lights as quickly as a result. In fact one could argue that a rear end shunt could be caused by incorrect use of rear fog lights shielding the brake lights.

Of all the people with opinions on how and when to use lights. Would be interested to know how many of you live quite rural and often, as in many times a day at this time of year, have to use dark unlit country roads. And how many of you live in well lit towns and cities?Cogito ergo sum!

Very good point 60disco
While talking of lights
LR with the assessory quad bumper lights and switch by the Rev counter.
Do these extra lights come on with main beam?
I know the others are fogs

Just coming back to this. Only have switch left to get into the dash now. Cable is on left side though, as in the side that battery is mounted. What is easiest route into cab from that side? Engine bay looks quite crammed in that area!Cogito ergo sum!

most people have suggested that grommet. I think that'll be the way to go then, i was hoipng there might have been similar near battery tray but I couldnt see one. Is access through that grommet easy enough under bonnet and inside vehcile?Cogito ergo sum!
