Cam Belt and Tensioners
I have recently bought a Disco 3 with 99,000 miles on the clock 2005, with full FSH. good condition, and it had a cam belt done at 75,000 miles and in 2013, main dealer, I was going to have it done again, is that just being over fussy. Have a price from a reputable cam belt company at £575 with all done incl water pump, tensioners. Should I have it done or accept that it doesn't need it yet?

Not only does the cam belt require replacing but at the same time it is always advised to have the uprated oil pump fitted. Has this been done?

Cam Belt and Tensioners
Are you saying it needs to be done after 25,000 miles? I haven't had it done yet, why does it need uprated oil pump?

Older style oil pumps have a weak casting design, where the cam belt tensioner mounts. The casting can fail, leading to serious engine damage.
There are loads of threads on here about oil pump. Just use the search function.
Edit: The belt should be fine after only 25k miles. You can check the pump with a little dismantling work on the front of the engine.Richard

Just search for cam belt failure and you will see many images of cracked oil pump casinsg and the fact the cambelt tensioner bolts directly to the oil pump means its seriously bad news and on an old car at garage labour rates makes its potentially scrap!
Comes up quite often and always after a recent cambelt change but no new oil pump.
You may be lucky and it may have been doone.

If you do find you have the old style, there is no option other than to have a new oil pump fitted. Richard

I have a good mechanic who is doing the cam belt is this oil pump at the back or front? He says oil pump is a 5 hour job but is this quicker because your doing timing belt at same time?

Oil pump at the front, like I said earlier if you search on here or google you will see loads of images of exactly what to look for to see if its old or new style fitted.
I was lucky when I did my belts the po had already had it done

Well not quite true - the change in the oil pump from the MY07 (so from Jul 06) to about 09MY caused the issue, so in theory pre 07MY cars should be OK if original but will be getting old by now - HOWEVER in my view it does pay to be cautious so as you said check what pump is actually fitted.

For the sake of £120 for the correct upgraded pump and a bit extra labour.
Personally, i would change the pump.
Mine is going in on May to get new belts, tensioners and pumps along with a few other bits.
Mine is an 04 year car but has 172,000 on it.

Of course, you are absolutely right Garry. I was forgetting it's a 2006 car.
Still worth the small amount of effort to get the covers off, and look. Richard
