There is also a camper conversion done here in Denmark - as there is a hole in the law making registration of campers cheaper, but nowadays big 4x4 can also be rebuil to be a camper.
result.....
30.000 Euro shaved off registration tax.

I can't quite work out whether the Danish unit has the sleeping accommodation in the roofspace like the Japanese version. The Japanese seem to have adapted their design from the 'Bongo' type vehicles you see advertised.21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

Everything stoves away so it looks like a normal D3 minus 1 seat on second row. (but i have seen one with all seats on second row ??)
Look carefully and you can see the seats underneath.

It has - there is a hole behind first row to get up there. Not practical - but here its only done for tax evation.
I had a scary incident with one of these. Only TDV6 demo at the dealer before we bought was a camper converted. On the road we went and at 110 km/h - up went the roof . This showed the strength of the tdv6, no reduction in speed but a hell of a lot more wind noise. Later i heard that the hinges had to be replaced as the roof was an inch offset backwards.
A small insight to the danish tax system and why we do this to our cars.
I bought the cargo conversion (we have no kids) - Only front seats, flat floor behind, window hoist on rear doors disabled. Have to have weight stickers on each side of car.
Presto - 67.000 € saved
Beats the annual 800€ "Private usage of cargo carrier" tax.
Cheers
