Can you be a bit more specific please.

Is "the same thing" loss or oil, or hissing, or both?

The dip stick on the 3 is quite hard to read to start with.
How much oil did you take out?
How much did you put in?

no obvious leaks at the front of the engine ?

I would disconnect an intercooler hose (under the plastic hatch in the right wing)

It's normal for some oil to come out, so have a bucket/bowl handy. But if you get 1 litre out or whatever then could be a turbo problem

Thanks for all the replies its also showing that there is a engine fault starting to think it was a bad move upgrading.

Sounds like top intercooler hose has split
Hissing
Loss off power
Engine fault
Cheap easy fix Thumbs Up
I had same years ago on my first d3

Dipstick is a pig to read correctly, you dropping nearly 5ltrs out means there was oil in there and not ran dry

Sounds as if the intercooler or hose is split and if you took 5 litres out then there was still oil in there Thumbs Up

Not personally, but is this thread worth a read?

Seems the issue has been common last wee while
