I always thought there should be somewhere proper to store the remote, mine arrived in the seat back pouch and has stayed there since but inevitably batteries are always flat when the kids come to use it, thanks !

For anyone wanting replacement or extra headphones for newer model discos the Range Rover ones also work and sometimes be can be found on eBay at a fraction of the dealer price:
