Here's hoping they've dropped the cringeworthy antics of Tim Shaw and his bogus blagging.
Spoils the show, for me.
The garage does some cracking work though.

I worked as part of the restoration crew on series 3 & 4

Series 5 saw myself and Fuzz open a new workshop where series 5 & 6 were made.

So from auto electrical guy, to project manager and then business owner so I have seen all sides!!

All the late nights and crazy deadlines, early this year I made the decision to distance myself from the fake drama and now I’m just a shareholder 👍

My interest was purely the cars, I appear on screen in a good number of shows but that’s just part of it.

The work that gets done to the cars is great. But, as these programs develop and get greater income for the production company because they attract greater sales and advertising revenue for the tv companies, they get more ambitious and staged. Does anyone think that it isn’t scripted, rehearsed and set up?
The addition of jeopardy is too just spice up the results. The final edit is payday. Failure doesn’t make good tv.

What starts out as a genuine objective becomes a money earning opportunity.
Call me a sceptic, but, reality tv is rarely real.

It is great entertainment and often informative, but, don’t take it seriously.

Ok - do take it seriously. That and all other tv is what keeps me in a job. Wink

Most things on telly are scripted, including news. Reality tv is one of the cheapest genres to do which is why there is so much of it. Most production companies exist to make money after all (“maximize shareholder value”) so it isn’t surprising they want to milk the cow for as long as possible.

I met 'Fuss' last year and had a chat about the show.

I asked him about a perticular car (think white Merc) and how close it looked on Tv to getting the car finished and to budget.

He insisted to me that part of show isn't staged and that the budget can be very very tight to restore the cars Thumbs Up

(Fuss (occassionally both of them) are usually at the NEC motor shows - next one in 2 weeks time)

Would be nice to now the total cost of the build at the end of each programme.

Occasionally watch Wheeler Dealers and they never seem to add the price of a good service or MOT onto the price of the build. Run the number plate through an MOT checker and very few of their projects still have a valid MOT and most seem to have a long list of advisories the year after 'they have worked their magic'

I always wondered who funds the work, and is the owner still the legal owner at the end of the restoration as some of the cars could be worth quite a lot at the end.
