I'll let 'em wear and have them replaced under warranty. Then shore it up.
About the intake: I see no intake plumbing going near the headlamp; certainly not the offside headlamp (on the V8, the airbox is on the UK driver's side). It looks to come out of the fender intake, into the airbox, into the engine. I haven't taken any of it apart, so it's possible there's an intake pointing down into the wheel well that I can't see, but that doesn't seem likely. On the V8, at least, it looks like the external intake is functional. '05 LR3 HSE
