WHAT TO BE CAREFUL WHEN BUYING A SECOND HAND DISCO 3 TDV6

I'm about to buy a Discovery 3 TDV6, and some people suggest me to buy at least 2007 or 2008 model, because 05-06 ones have different engine setup....I'm not sure about this....

And what else to be careful when buying a second hand diesel discovery 3

I'd go for the last of the early cars so you can blank off the EGR valves etc.

But I'm sure others will completely disagree.

just make sure its had all the reworks carried out, like the high pressure fuel pump, brake booster vaccum pipes. or later models with the new type hieght sensors

Hi Anthony ,

Give it a good road test and make sure you haven't got any auto gearbox vibrations/judder around 30mph as seems to be getting more common. Could end up costing you mega bucks to fix .

If you opt for a pre 07MY D3 (EU3 engine) you can have the EGR vales easily Thumbs Up Never get mad - get even !!

06 D3 now gone to family member and still going strong at 265k

previous vehicles:
04 D2 TD5 - (clocked 189k from new)
52 X-Trail 2.2 SVE
various euro boxes !

Hi I also would like to know what to look out when planning to buy a second hand Disco 3 s v6 diesel? I heard a roumor that the 120 000 km servise is a big deal. Can some one advise?

Depends what model year you have Snip.

My MY'08 TDV6 120K service was no biggie, but the 12K service interval models might be different
