Or go one better - put all the seats down, throw in a soft mattress, put some 'mood' music on the CD player and relax with your favourite female friend

Just received the car back from the dealer. Central locking now works and my seat memory and mirror memory have been retained.
I asked them what the problem was in order to provide time3200 with a possible quick fix, but the dealer said that the problem was due to an error they had made while connecting the winch electrics and would not be applicable to a brand new vehicle. Sorry, but it seems you'll have to take it to the dealer as well.

Thanks all for the suggestions. Couldn't persuade anyone to part with their baby - I mean some parents are just obsessive
As it seemed that there was no quick fix available I took the car back to the dealer on Friday past.
They have kindly lent me a 5 year old Mondeo, and promise that I shall have my car back this week, or next at the latest.
Must say that if I had not had some humour from this forum to keep my spirits up, I would be hankering after my old X5.
As it is - well I guess the Mondeo will make me appreciate the Disco, when and if I get it back.
