Changing to 13 pin towing socket

Hi There,
I am about to change my caravan for a new one,and the new caravan comes with a 13 pin plug. I obviously have to change the existing 12N and 12S sockets on the car. I do not want to use a convertion lead.
Is there any technical reason why this is not a straight forward substitution, I believe the LR towing harness has an ECU to disable the parking sensors, stop the suspension lowering on motorways etc.
Is changing the socket likely to upset the system? Confused Confused

Hi Barry,

You can change the socket portion of the electrics kit for the 13 pin with no problems - you would then end up with a complete 12N/S kit to sell on if you wished Smile
