I thought that the Xenon's needed the extra leveling sensors etc, without which they cannot work. Are all these included on all D4 models? I hope this is not too silly a question... Embarassed

When to another guy with an auto logic diagnostics tools and he said he didnt have the patch in order to reprogram the lights. Took it to another shop that said they could do it over the phone only to tell me the same thing, they apparently are going to download a patch over the weekend and have a go on monday.

There's no self levelling mechanism contained within an ordinary Halogen or Xenon headlight. The vehicle self levels due to the air suspension, therefore no need. Thumbs Up

Are you sure? I was thinking that the leveling was needed even when self leveling included in the vehicle. I had a citroen c5 with hydroneumatic hydractive 3 self leveling susp (what a real fantastic riding) with xenon and had electric motors to do this....citroen was wrong maybe? Or was the first batch of xenon cars that had it and was included because of that?

I really don't know about this... But i was thinking that the need for self leveling motors in the mains was because the need to instantly correct the level on rough or uneven potted surfaces, when the susp is not fast enough to do the leveling task and flashing the incoming cars is so possible.

Anyone knows?

I was pretty sure that there are leveling sensors for the D4 (possibly being used for the air suspension leveling measurements as well), however although I've read hundreds of pages about the D3/D4 I am not a mechanic, so I rest my case. Whistle

For a relevant reference you may read this thread http://www.disco4.com/forum/topic96332.htm...ing+sensor

Another one bites the Dust!!

Hello Dave...Think I'm the only guy thats ever attempted to do this in Perth!!! These guys could not (or would not) download the patch file. They took it down to the dealer (where I had previously attempted) to try and get it done but dealer said something about getting authorisation from Landrover... a whole load of BS I think, just them no having or not being bothered doing the Job. I've got one more guy to visit before having to get halogens back in....regards
